I got an email from a company called SolarCity who are offering a home solar system with no money down, free installation and three years free solar power. It's a 15 year lease and this deal has no payments for the first three years. After that the lease payment works out to around $100 a month which is still less than my current electric bill.

The trick is that the three years free is limited to residents of the City of Santa Clara - outside of Santa Clara a regular solar lease is still possible.
I've been seriously thinking about solar power and this seems like it would be the way to go. Anyone heard about this before?
