Went to HD last night, just passing by the lightbulb section and noticed they have 4 packs of EcoSmart 14 Watt(60W)Soft White bulbs for $1.05 (they are normally $7.46 in my store) (web site says $5.85)
the 40W are also the same price.
(100W were $10.00 for a case of 12 - normally $21.00)
I ended up buying 2 cases of mixed 60W and 40W(80 bulbs total) for just over $20.00.
Plus 2 cases of the 100W to replace the bulbs I have in any cans.
I live in NC, but I told a buddy of mine about who lives in SC same deal there.
Anyways, im sure its a YMMV, but thats the best price I have ever seen those types of bulbs for.
