Newegg currently has a promotion on the Canon 7D packaged with the 28-135 lens. Using promo code EMCYPZN22 will knock $200 off the price. Since the current price of the camera is $1599 and the price of the combo is $1799, you are getting the lens for free. If you couple this with the current Canon printer/SLR mail-in rebate you can add the Pixma Pro9000 for $60 more. Here's the math: Canon 7D w/28-135 lens - $1799 Pixma Pro9000 - $459.99Sub Total - $2258.99 Promo code EMCYPZN22 -($ 200.00) Canon Mail-in rebate -($ 400.00) FatWallet CashBack -( $ 41.18) Total price - $1617.81 plus shipping (obviously if you can find a free shipping code, even better) If, like me, you don't need the lens or the printer, they will each bring between $200-300 so you'll end up with an excellent camera for $1000-$1100. http://promotions.newegg.com/NEemail/latest/index-landing.aspx?n... I posted this over at that other deals forum, too, and was surprised it didn't make it over here after several hours and a few thousand views, so now I'll post it here, too. Maybe tighten up the language a little... Use the keyword "motherboard" for 15% Bing CB at TigerDirect. There you'll find the WD15EARS for $99.99, $84.99 after CashBack, with free shipping for $100 or more. Santiagoanders at that other forum provided this cheap filler idea for FS. Better to go through Bing to get the CashBack, but if you prefer to go straight to TigerDirect here's a link to the product there. Happy shopping. Now for my plea: can anyone advise me on whether this is good for a 4 disk RAID-5? If not, what's better? Replies and PMs welcomed, even begged for.

Just back from Sam's Club. In the tech aisle they now have the WDTV Live on a cardboard blister pack for $95. Lowest price I found googling was $109 shipped. This is,of course, the new one witht he ethernet port for network viewing, as well as the USB port por playing from USB devices or connecting a wireless USB adapter. Does 1080p video beautifully! I bought mine in November at Best Buy for $120, and love it! A great replacement for an aging original XBox running XBMC. In case this isn't everywhere, I was specifically at the Crestwood, Mo store. Doesn't appear to be on teh Sam's website yet. Also saw 750gig ($99) and 1TB ($149) pocket USB powered WD drives.

These suckers are expensive, but they're well worth it. They have claimed to be sold out of the old model for quite a while now. The free shipping on both models is a nice bonus, as is the free case for the new model. private sale link

A few months back I went a quest for the "perfect" coffee pot. I purchased 3 in 4 months including one "highly rated" one that cost more than $150 bucks that turned out to be junk. I finally settled on this one (one of the highest rated makers on Amazon), and it has been great. I paid $70. At $49.99 it is a steal; at $39.99 AR it is highway robbery. Would it be silly to buy a backup coffee pot? Black and Stainless Steel is the only model at this price. LINKIf you are interested, here the review I wrote on the maker for Amazon: After going through 2 thermal carafe style coffee pots that just did not keep coffee hot and fresh(including the very expensive and highly reviewed Newco OCS series which turned out to be junk), I have finally found the perfect coffee pot. Maybe I am just not a coffee snob, but I want my coffee maker to have a traditional glass carafe and a nice warming plate. I only drink coffee in the mornings over a few hours and my needs are simple: I want tasty, scalding hot coffee that can stand up to added cream without having to microwave it (always had to do this with the carafe-style pots)and that stays hot over a 2-3 hour period. This maker does all that with the added bonus of being programmable for start and auto shutoff, possessing a neat 1-4 cup setting that super-heats the water (I use this setting all the time), and having an adjustable warming plate to keep the coffee hot (I leave mine on 'high'). All this and it looks cool too. If there is any issue, it would be that the lid is a little hard to get on and off and their is a lot of condensation if leave the top closed all day, but this is really minor. Cuisinart has a real winner here. Do yourself a favor and forget about spending lots of money on so-called gourmet or purist coffee makers that can cost 3 times as much and skip all the hassle I went through buying and returning two other coffee makers. You have found your ideal pot and at this price, trust me, it is a bargain.
